During the COVID-19 pandemic, numerous antiviral agents, immunotherapies, and vaccines continue to be investigated and developed as potential therapies in the fight against COVID-19. Currently, only one drug is approved in the United States for the treatment of COVID-19. The FDA has issued several emergency use authorizations (EUAs) for other treatment and prevention therapies such as vaccines, convalescent plasma, and monoclonal antibodies. Because the information changes so rapidly, healthcare professionals need to know the current guidelines for the prevention and treatment of COVID-19.
