November is Men’s Health Awareness Month. The average life expectancy for men in the United States is almost 5 years less than women. The average man pays less attention to his health than the average woman and is less likely to see a doctor for regular checkups. In addition to the same diseases that can affect everyone, including heart disease, stroke, diabetes, cancer, and depression, men also have unique health conditions such as prostate cancer and low testosterone. Many health risks that men face can be prevented with a healthy lifestyle, such as regular exercise, a healthy diet, not smoking, stress reduction, and moderate alcohol consumption.

This week we highlight six trending men’s health issues and lecture summaries to consider.
